Creation Care
November 11, 2009
Environmentalism has become its own religion, and in so doing, it has stolen one of Christianity’s most ancient mandates: Creation Care. Or maybe “stolen” isn’t the right word. Maybe we just gave it away, because we got so sidetracked with culture wars and drawing lines in the sand.
The Bible begins and ends with respect for Creation and its Creator. It’s what holds the Bible together, like a pair of bookends. It is one of the central messages of Genesis and one of the defining aspects of God’s people in Revelation: “Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth—to every nation, tribe, language and people. He said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water.” (Rev. 14:6,7)
Join Spencer Burke in his disarmingly casual interview with young author, Ben Lowe. Here is the voice of a new generation of Christian thinkers, reclaiming ground, lost to secular environmentalism.
